Doorey Speaking at Ryerson's Labour-Management Centre

by David Doorey November 15, 2010
written by David Doorey November 15, 2010

The new Centre for Labour Management Relations at Ryerson is now up and running.  Here is their website. The Centre’s Mission is stated as follows:

The Centre for Labour-Management Relations (“CLMR”) is a faculty-based research centre, devoted to the advancement of knowledge and understanding of labour-management relations.  The three core objectives of the CLMR are:

  1. to support Ryerson faculty research in labour relations;
  2. to support and serve as a resource for the further development of Ryerson university teaching in the realm of labour-management relations; and
  3. to support meaningful interaction of Ryerson faculty and students with external actors within the realm of labour-management relations.

The Centre’s external director is Buzz Hargrove, former Director of the CAW, and the Internal Director is Professor Maurice Mazerolle.
Professor Mazerolle has invited me to speak next week as part of a new “Lunch and Learn” speaker series.   My talk will be based on my DRAFT paper entitled, Decentring the Law of the Workplace: Risk and the Polycentric Order, which you can download here, if interested.
The title of my talk is:

“Re-Imagining Employment Law:  Harnessing Risk to Achieve Compliance”
Tuesday, November 23, 2010
12 noon to 2 p.m.
Ted Rogers School of Business, Ryerson University, 7th Floor, Room 1-010

Here is the flyer. Hope to see you there.
