Today’s the day that my book The Law of Work is finally, officially released!!
Check out the fancy new banner to the right, which includes a link to the book’s webpage (and a humbling little blurb by the great Professor Harry Arthurs, who reviewed the book for the publisher). This blog will interact with the book moving forward. You can download the e-Book version right now, or order a hard copy.
This book covers the introductory overview material, including how the law distinguishes between employment and not employment and why that distinction has been so important in our legal model. It then explores in depth, but in a readable prose, the Common Law of Employment and the Regulatory Regime, how governments in Canada have regulated the employment relationship over the years.
The Collective Bargaining Regime, part IV of the book, is being rolled out next year and is currently still in the writing stage.
If you’re interested in law’s interaction with the workplace, check out the book, and let me know what you think. Look for the original work law comics disbursed through the book.
Cheers, David
