Sometimes I like to give plugs to worthwhile causes and fund-raisers. Here’s two events coming up shortly that you should support if you can, especially readers that are fortunate enough to have good jobs in these tough times.
Tuesday, October 25th, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.: 160 Girls – Lecture and Silent Auction at Fasken Martineau
I have bolstered this cause before. It is an initiative to raise funds to raise awareness and to launch a class action lawsuit in Kenya to seek justice for hundreds of young girls who have been raped by men with impunity. On October 25th there is a talk and fund raiser hosted by my lovely spouse and her fine colleagues at Fasken Martineau in downtown Toronto. Here is the invite. Please try to give, if you can.
Wednesday, November 2nd, 6 p.m.: What’s on the Table Fundraiser at Wychwood Barns and Toronto’s Top Chefs
At a fundraiser for Boost for Kids last week, I was introduced to one of the organizers of this great event to fight hunger in Toronto. The event is called Whats on the Table, and it brings together Toronto’s top chefs, including celebrity chefs Jamie Kennedy and Lynn Crawford, among many others. This event should be great fun if you can afford the tickets, and your money goes to a great and local organization trying to help people who are struggling to improve their lives. Here is the information about the event.
Hope to see you at one or both of these great events. David
