The year end is the time for Top Ten lists reflecting on the year past. So my last post of the year (probably) will be the Top 10 most viewed entries from Doorey’s Workplace Law Blog. A number of the posts that make this list this year related to the York strike. The number one hit was a quick little post I did about the no layoff policy at Toyota in the U.S. and questioning whether Toyota Canada has a similar policy. Somehow that post got picked up on by Toyota workers and became something of a sounding board. I can’t always explain how these things happen, but that is the wonder of this medium.
Anyhow, here’s the list:
10. The Law and Ethics of Notice of Termination
9.Ontario Introduces New Workplace Harassment & Violence Law
8.Can a non-union Employer suspend an employee without pay?
7.Starbucks and Discriminatory Application Form
6.Could York Students Sue York and CUPE?
5.Fraser v. Ontario: Court Finds Ontario Violated Charter Right to Collective Bargaining
4.Lay-offs, constructive dismissal, and the duty to mitigate
3.Can the Government Pass Back to Work Legislation to End the York Strike?
2.Have York Deans Violated the Labour Relations Act?
And, drum roll please, the number one most read blog entry:
1.Toyota’s No Layoff Policy
See you in 2010, which promises to be a very interesting year indeed in labour and employment law.
