We hosted Professor Michael Lynk, Associate Dean of Western Law School here last month. Next week, I will be hosting another distinguished visitor in a “In the Studio” format, where the audience and I will ask questions.
This visitor for this special event is:
Marie Kelly, Secretary Treasurer of the Ontario Federation of Labour.
Date: Monday, November 29, 2010
Time: 4 p.m
Location: Senate Chamber, Room Ross Building, N926.
Marie will be talking about her experiences as a labour lawyer working for unions and her more recent experiences in leadership positions within the labour movement. She will also provide insights into the position of women in the Canadian labour movement.
Marie was a lawyer (with me!) at the United Steelworkers of America for years, before becoming Assistant to the Director of the Steelworkers’ District 6 (Ontario and Maritimes). In 2009, she became Secretary-Treasuer of the OFL. Marie’s is speaking to my Industrial Relations class, but others in the York Community are welcome to attend, subject to available seating.
Watch Marie’s talk to the rally on the Prorogue of Parliament Rally here.
Here is another speech by Marie from Ingersoll, Ontario
