Battle in TTC Union?

Here’s an article on the TTC strike. Pay attention to how personalities and politics can influence industrial relations outcomes.   This sort of internal union politicking is not uncommon–it is a natural result of the democratic process and, I would argue, not inherently unhealthy.  Unfortunately, sometimes union politics can have spill-over effects on third parties, including public transit riders.  What do you think?
