I’ve been away for a bit, so there were no new postings. While I was gone, American Workplace Law Prof blog posted the list of most downloaded authors on SSRN writing and teaching labour and employment law.
I’m not sure how SSRN determines which authors qualify for the list (for example, I am the only Canadian professor on the list, and no one asked me what I teach). I prepared a list of Canadian labour law scholars who are on SSRN a while back. There is a growing debate in the U.S. about whether anything should be read into these sorts of download rankings. I’m not interested in that debate. The important thing is that SSRN and other electronic databases make it easy to access a lot of academic literature that used to be available only by going to a library or paying a fee. So its useful to have a list of labour and employment law scholars who make their writings available on-line.
