I was just telling my undergrad students the other day that one of worlds’ leading industrial “pluralists” is our own Harry Arthurs here at York University, whose name graces a beautiful park and pond in the central square of our university. Harry gave the 2009 keynote Rush McKnight ‘s lecture on labor law at Cleveland’s Case Western University School of Law. His talk was entitled The Mysterious Disappearance of Labor … and of Labor Law? In typical Harry fashion, it is a sweeping talk, covering one hundred years of labour and employment law practice and academia, depressing yet hopeful.
